Green Hydrogen: The Future of the Energy Sector

Having as its main motivation to combat climate change, the search for solutions that lead to decarbonization of the economy grows worldwide. In this sense, green hydrogen (commonly called when produced by renewable sources) is considered the main alternative, being developed by several countries.

Following is the possible routes for its production:

The main countries that show interest in the implementation of this new economy are those that have the highest energy demand and, consequently, the highest levels of greenhouse gas emissions.

The future for hydrogen proves to be very promising. According to the Hydro-Gen Council, the green hydrogen market is expected to be responsible for about 20% of all energy demand in the world by 2050. This could generate huge opportunities for investments, taxes, jobs and income when Brazil, especially in the Brazilian Northeast, due to its competitiveness in power generation from renewable sources (wind and solar), being quoted as the main input for the production of green hydrogen.

SNEF has been preparing to meet the market with the demand for plants that can meet the market.

to example, a 5mw (6385 kWP) plant built by SNEF in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, in less than 10 years, the energy spent for the Production of the components of this plant, pays with its energy production, as seen in the chart below:

What if the final 20 years of this plant were used for the production of green hydrogen? It is in this path that SNEF will drive the market, green and efficient.

a snef Brazil < /A> has an engineering prepared to meet the demands of our customers, with experience and expertise acquired in over 35 years of services and projects related to power generation that total 2 GW, distributed among hydroelectric, small hydroelectric plants, thermoelectric , photovoltaic parks and substations.
